Reclining seats + restroom equipped for your comfort. - MANSION AFTERNOON TEA - It’s a tradition that began in 1840 by the Seventh Duchess of Bedford. Due to a long period between the meals, the Duchess experienced a sinking feeling that afflicted her. One afternoon she requested a tray of tea, bread, butter, and cake to be brought to her room. Gradually, she became accustomed to this habit and invited her friends to partake in her daily ritual. Experience includes: Glass of Champagne or Mimosa, Non Alcoholic Beverages, Whitney Signature Blend Tea, Duet of Scones - Accompanied by Marmalade and Chantilly Cream, Berries & Double Cream, Tea Towers: Tea Sandwiches & Hot Canapes, Assortment of Miniature Desserts & Macarons. *Menu subject to change. *Due to the nature of this event, we cannot accommodate menu/dietary restrictions or substitutions. - TOUR OF THE WHITNEY - In 1894 “The Whitney” became home to the family of lumber baron David Whitney Jr., the wealthiest man in Detroit at the time. Today this iconic turn of the century, romanesque revival mansion turned restaurant retains all of its charm and refinement while appealing to contemporary tastes. Following afternoon tea, enjoy an hour-long guided tour of the mansion. *PLEASE NOTE: Dress Code- “The Whitney enforces a business/country club casual dress code. Gentlemen are asked to wear collared shirts with sleeves and check their caps when dining in the mansion. For women, please no athletic wear, sweatshirts, or sneakers.” Handicap Accessibility- “The Whitney’s entire first floor is handicap accessible. There is an elevator available to assist your guests up to the second or third floors.” - Tour Manager – Professional from Rybicki Tours *Driver and Tour Manager gratuity not included. *REGISTRATION DEADLINE- APRIL 7 (unless the tour reaches maximum capacity beforehand). *CANCELATION POLICY– $5 processing fee if canceled at any time. Subject to a $95 cancel fee pp if canceled after April 7. No refund if canceled within 48 hours of the tour.
